About

December 12th, 2008

Reveille Marie Solomon was born at 10:00 am on February 12th, 2009.  She was 8 lbs. 4 oz. and 20 in. long.  Before she was born she was diagnosed with a clubbed right foot during a routine ultra sound. As a precaution the doctors decided to look for other more serious defects that sometime are connect with her leg’s deformity. Unfortunately, they found a small spot on her lower back that was later diagnosed as Spina Bifida. This would require her to have surgery two days after birth and change all of our lives. In God’s good grace and thanks to skill and knowledge of the wonderful doctors and surgeons at Children’s Memorial Hospital we would come to find that though she does have Spina Bifida it is very mild and its effects on her life should be minimal. However during her post operation recovery we received the news that she had also tested positive for Down Syndrome as well. Despite the challenges set before her, Reveille continues to excite and amaze us everyday. It is this blogs goal to share with you  her life and development. At least, until she is old enough to tell us to stop. We hope that you can find encouragement and be blessed by the ongoing story of this incredible little lady.
